Lane Filtering

G’day

Back on July 1st, 2014 the New South Wales (NSW) State Guv’mint amended their traffic act to specifically define motorcycle lane filtering and lane splitting.

Previously there was no specific rules outlawing the practice of lane filtering, but popo frowned upon the manoeuvre and usually booked you for failing to keep within a defined lane or some other such thing.

Everyone’s A Criminal

I don’t know what it is like in your part of the world, but here in Queensland bar tenders have a lot of responsibility when it comes to serving alcohol. Not just to make sure the glasses are clean and the beer is always flowing, but stuff like asking for ID from those that are lucky enough to look younger than they really are, or cutting a patron off when he/ she has had a skin full. These responsibilities are set in Queensland law and all have fines attached to them.

Why We Should Have Lane Filtering

Maurice Blackburn are a bunch of lawyers that are strong advocates for the Motorcycling community.

Caught Out

G’day

When I was young… last century, I heard of a tactic being used by law enforcement where riders, and drivers, were baited into doing something wrong. Once the target had taken the bait, they were pulled over, fined and sent along their way. Law enforcement has always denied this, and up until recently it was difficult to prove anything in court.
