A while ago, The Pillion and I nicked off to the other side of the New South Wales – Queensland border for some R&R. We usually just head down the coastal route via Mt Tamborine or Springbrook.
This time, for something a bit different, we decided to head out via Boonah and Killarney.
Look… ah… sorry to bug you like this, but I though 6 months was long enough of a break between posts.
I arrived home from work today to find a box full of old photos strewn all over the floor.
Yep, you guessed it, The Pillion got bored and was reminiscing about the old days.
Wouldn’t it be great if there were free motorcycle specific touring guides complete with maps and places of interest dedicated to each region in Australia?
There are of course several websites around that identify great riding roads, but these don’t seem to mention other attractions that may be of interest to motorcyclists visiting the area.
Last week I presented an eBook about touring Tasmania on a motorcycle.
This week I thought I’d share another eBook, this time a little closer to where I live.
Well, it’s about 2-1/2 hours ride from me, but I consider it part of my backyard because I can easily do a return trip in a day.
I’ve been harping on about Tasmania quite a bit over the last 12 months or so, and rightly so too, it’s a great place to visit and explore.
Especially if you’re on a motorcycle.
Many states in Australia have adopted lane filtering laws.
Each state has their own rules, and while much is similar, there are some differences in what you can and can’t do legally. Which in turn can cause some confusion for interstate riders.
What’s legal in Queensland may not be in New South Wales or Victoria.
I often harp on about how good the roads and destinations are around these parts.
History, people and the surrounding scenery come together to make most places special in their own way.
I’ve come good on a threat I made about three weeks ago.
I don’t normally make threats, but on this occasion I saw no other way to deal with the problem. A tune-up was required.
