A couple of weeks ago I took the pillion away for a weekend of us time; No work, no kids, no worries. Yes it was a special occasion, and yes I wanted to win some brownie points.
I decided on a B&B* in a little town in Northern Rivers District of NSW*. The route I planned on taking, took us down to Nerang QLD*, through the Numinbah Valley along the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road, over the border to Murwillumbah NSW*, Uki, Nimbin and on to our destination.
Even though it’s only around 280 km (175 mi) the trip is about 4 hrs 30 minutes without stops. We stopped along the way and it took a little longer.
The route back was via The Channon NSW, Nimbin, Kyogle, The Lions Road over the border through to Beaudesert QLD , and on to Brisbane via Jimboomba. This route was a similar distance and about the same time without stops. Of course we stopped along the way again.
In both cases you can take the more direct route via the Pacific Highway and shave 50 km (30 mi) off the trip and do it in about 2 hrs 30 mins <— Boring.
Anyway here are some photos we took. I hope you enjoy them.
Oh and just quietly, the roads down in Northern NSW are not race track quality, which is good because it encourages a slower pace that in turn allows you to take in your surroundings.
